Dokra is a traditional, non-ferrous metal casting art that uses the ancient lost-wax technique (cire perdue). Dating back over 4,000 years, the craft traces its roots to pre-historic civilizations like Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa—famous for artifacts such as the iconic dancing girl figurine.
Artisans shape a primary core of clay roughly resembling the final object. The clay core is wrapped in thin strands of beeswax, resin, and nut oil, and intricately decorated with fine hand-spun wax wires. The wax design is encased in multiple layers of clay slurry and allowed to dry. The mold is heated in a furnace; the wax melts and drains out through channels, leaving a hollow cavity. Molten scrap brass, bronze, or bell metal is poured into the void. Once cooled, the outer clay shell is chipped away with a hammer to reveal the rustic, textured metal artifact, which is then brushed and polished.

Care Instructions: Keep your pendant in a dry place and avoid contact with water, perfumes, lotions, and harsh chemicals to preserve its hand-painted finish and maintain its beauty over time.
Return policy
Criteria for Return/ Exchange:
1. Return or Exchange will only be initiated by Madhukaari team if the customer notify us of any of the following instances within 7 days of receiving the product:-
* The product received by the customer is defective.
* The wrong product was sent by the team.
* Any damage occurred during the transit.
2. Products purchased during SALE or EXHIBITIONS are not eligible for return or exchange.
RETURN POLICY:
* As per the discussion with our team, the customer should send back the product to the address mentioned on the website.
* Refund will be initiated only after the product our team receives and inspects the product.
* Shipping Charges won’t be refunded.
* Refunds will be processed within 3 business days of receiving the returned item and will be issued to the original payment method. Please note that the time it takes for the refund to appear on your statement may vary depending on your bank or credit card company.

Shipping
DOMESTIC SHIPPING (ANYWHERE WITHIN INDIA)
To qualify for free shipping, a minimum order value of Rs.6000/- is required.
Shipping cost – For Orders below Rs.6000/- shipping charge of Rs 160/- will be added.
Shipping timeline - 3 to 5 working days after order confirmation.
Note:
* In case, the address provided by the customer comes in ODA (Out of Delivery area) the shipping charges may vary and the Madhukaari team will get in touch with the customer for the same before processing the order.
* The shipping address cannot be changed once an order is placed.
* The timeline may change depending on the area, region, National or State Holidays or delay due to customization and unforeseen conditions.
* Please bear in mind that delivery to certain remote or inaccessible locations requires a surcharge to be paid, which carriers demand. If in case the delivery location listed by you lies within these areas, we will inform you beforehand about the same.
PRE-ORDERS
Products mentioned as Pre-order will take a minimum of 30 working days to dispatch the order. This is because our pre orders require us to work with artisan clusters to source the art piece.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING (OUTSIDE INDIA)
Delivery charges – On actual, plus Rs 250
On actual includes customs clearance charges in India.
Shipping timeline - 5 to 7 working days after order confirmation.
Delivery timeline - Approximately 20-30 working days.
Note:
1. The shipping address cannot be changed once an order is placed.
2. Our shipments are handed door-to-door only so we are unable to deliver to a PO Box.
3. International shipments sometimes attract additional duties and taxes that may be levied on an order once it has reached the destination state or country. In all cases, the customer must clear any additional charges with the courier company to release the goods. Unfortunately, we are unable to state the exact amount of such charges at the time an order is placed since charges vary widely between states and countries.
4. Madhukaari shall have no liability to you for any failure to deliver goods you have ordered or any delay in doing so or for any damage or defect to goods delivered that is caused by any event or circumstance beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to acts of god, terrorism, riots, etc.
Manufacturing
Madhukaari believes in slow, meaningful fashion. Each product from Madhukaari is completely handmade. There is no mass manufacturing involved. Madhukaari works directly with multiple art clusters of India to ethically source it's art work at fair price.
We carefully select our sourcing partners for raw materials, to ensure our products are high quality and a fair value.
